Quick tactics for tiger trout (brown × brook hybrid)
Tigers (brown × brook hybrid) are sterile, so everything they eat goes to growth — and they eat like predators. Expect brown-trout aggression without the brown-trout caution: they charge streamers, patrol shorelines, and hit hard. Scofield and Huntington grow them past 10 pounds.
Minnows, chubs, leeches, crayfish, and big nymphs. Meat over bugs.
- Streamers stripped fast along shorelines and points
- Casting spoons and jerkbaits from bank or tube
- Balanced leech under an indicator over weed flats
- Jigging spoons tipped with minnow through the ice
