Fishing Otter Creek Reservoir: what to know
Otter Creek is a 3,000-acre reservoir in Piute County near Antimony, a long way from anywhere and better for it — a state park, a ramp, and a rainbow trout fishery that produces some of the fattest stocked fish in the state, plus cutthroat, smallmouth bass, and the occasional big brown.
Ice-out in March or April through June is prime from shore; summer is trolling and early bass; fall shore fishing is excellent. One of southern Utah's better ice-fishing lakes December through February.
Shore: worms and PowerBait, or a fly rod with a leech. Trolling: pop gear and worms, small crankbaits. Ice: jigs tipped with bait in 10–20 feet. Standard trout limits.
