Fishing Tibble Fork Reservoir: what to know
Tibble Fork is a small reservoir in American Fork Canyon at 6,400 feet, 20 minutes above Highland — rebuilt in 2016 with a new dam, a parking lot, and easy shore access. It's stocked with catchable rainbow trout through the season and is one of the most popular family fishing spots on the Wasatch Front; the canyon requires a Forest Service recreation pass.
Fishes from ice-out in April through November, with heavy stocking in spring and again in fall. Summer weekends are packed; weekday mornings are quiet. It freezes in winter and gets some ice fishing.
Worms, PowerBait, or a small spinner from anywhere on the shoreline. Check the stocking history on this page — the days after a plant are the easy ones.
