Fishing Yuba Reservoir (Sevier Bridge): what to know

Yuba (Sevier Bridge Reservoir) is a long, low-elevation reservoir on the Sevier River south of Nephi, right off I-15 — the closest 'big water' to the southern Wasatch Front. It's known for northern pike, walleye, yellow perch, and stocked rainbows, and for water levels that swing wildly with irrigation, from full and fishing well to nearly dry.

Spring is walleye and pike as the water warms; the pike bite is best April–June in the shallow, weedy arms. Summer is warm and best early for walleye and perch. Fall is good again for pike and walleye. Yuba ices over most winters and the perch fishing through the ice, with pike as a bonus, is popular from the Painted Rocks and Oasis areas.

Pike: big spoons, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits in the shallow bays, or a dead bait under a bobber. Walleye: jigs and minnows or crawler harnesses along the points. Perch: small jigs on bottom, especially through the ice. Yuba's pike are a managed species with their own rule — check the regulations section — and the level dictates which ramps work.
