Fishing Upper Provo River: what to know
The Upper Provo is the small freestone above Jordanelle — from the Uinta headwaters along the Mirror Lake Highway down through Woodland and Francis — with brook, brown, cutthroat, and rainbow trout in classic pocket water. Public access is mostly on the Forest Service section along UT-150; below that, it's largely private.
Runoff through June; prime July through September with attractor dries and terrestrials; the browns get active in October.
Dry-dropper with a small rod and short casts; small streamers in the pools. Standard limits on the public water.
